Our first chickens
Spring is on the way and we have decided to raise chickens for eggs. (it is a logical and hopefully inexpensive pet...less expensive than a turtle) Lilly insisted on getting the Americana chick because it lays "Easter eggs" which come out different colors. Everyone pick their own chick so we have 5 different breeds of chicks. They should get along and we will have a variety of white, brown, and colored eggs. Hey, we are all about everyone no matter what egg they lay....yummy. I just hope they are all hens (we cannot tell this young) if we have any roosters they will end up on the table as bbq chicken. It is so cute the little chicks are in a Tupperware in our hallway. We have a heat lamp on the little chicks and I tell the kids not to let the heat lamp get too close or we will have chicken nuggets. :) Stay posted to see what we come up with for our coop, our dead grass resurrected and my idea of a garden.
