We went camping with Allens family last week. We stayed at Quail Creek and visited Zion National Park. The first night we saw a beautiful big moon, the second night it was very windy, and the third night was calm. We slept in our big family tent. For some reason we only had one or two stakes so Allen used a crowbar for a stake to keep the tent up on the windy day.
It was very hot, and very fun. Allens family hiked Angels Landing and we went on a few smaller hikes. We took the longer loop on the shuttle for nap time. I had my 30th birthday there and my cake was a peach cobbler that Allen made in the dutch oven.
We spent our last full day swimming, building sandcastles, and having fun on the beach. That afternoon we all fell asleep in the tent. It was a great nap but a bit sweaty.
After we woke up we just hung around the picnic table relaxing. Allen poked a few holes in a water bottle and made a refreshing water sprayer. I sat on the bench and let the kids drench me with water.
The kids loved swimming and chasing lizards.
That sounds like tons of fun! I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa. I was out there for a couple of months, I totally should have visited you. Maybe next time!
